Europe is at a crossroads. The green, digital and demographic transitions, an increasingly competitive global race, and a volatile geopolitical order are reshaping the world of work at speed. Yet just as working people need it most, the wider political debate has tilted toward deregulation and competitiveness, and the ambition for a Social Europe risks being pushed to the margins.
The forthcoming Quality Jobs Act is a chance to reverse that drift and prove that competitiveness and quality jobs are not opposites — that a fairer Europe is also a stronger, more resilient one. Workers deserve a real say in shaping this change, and the Act must deliver for them: putting social progress back at the centre of Europe's agenda and delivering quality jobs in every sector and every region.
Join policymakers, social partners and experts as we debate how to turn this ambition into a new legislative initiative. Discussions will focus on the six priorities ETUC has put on the table: algorithmic management and AI at work, just transitions, occupational safety and health, protecting workers' rights in subcontracting and intermediation, enforcement and the role of social partners, and telework and the right to disconnect.
Political promises or recommendations alone will not be enough for a Europe that truly delivers for working people — only binding, enforceable rules can guarantee these standards are upheld consistently across every Member State and every sector.
