For our ‘Future of Work’ project in Brussels, we are seeking a Policy Officer for Trade Union Work in Brussels at the earliest possible date. Our team consists of committed and bright minds who work collaboratively and creatively, with a clear focus on our mission. ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and further developing contacts with European trade union confederations and national trade unions Advising senior staff in the context of European trade union dialogue Coordinating projects with trade union partners and serving as the central point of contact for relevant stakeholders within trade union organisations Contributing to the conceptual development of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s trade union work in Europe Advising the Foundation’s offices across Europe on trade union policy issues Developing and implementing trade union policy communication (internal and external) Identifying and developing innovative lines of work with trade union-affiliated research institutesRequirementsA university degree in political science, social sciences, economics, or a comparable field of study, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and professional experience At least one year of relevant professional experience and a strong interest in trade union work Very good written and spoken German and English; knowledge of an additional European language is an asset Initiative and the ability to work independentlyHigh level of flexibility and a strong ability to work as part of a team Strong social and political commitment, as well as good organisational skillsWe offerA full-time position, fixed-term until the end of 2027An employment contract under Belgian law An attractive salary in accordance with Belgian labour law, based on professional experience An international, political working environment Extensive opportunities for professional development A friendly and supportive working environment with open-minded colleagues Please send your application, including CV and cover letter, in German or English by email only, no later than 21 April 2026, to: futureofwork(at)fes.de
