Job Announcement: Financial Officer

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Brussels is currently looking to fill as soon as possible the position of Financial Officer

For our Project on the „Future of Work“ in Brussels, we are looking to fill as soon as possible the position of Financial Officer. Our team consists of committed and bright minds who implement their activities with agility, mutual appreciation and a clear focus. Are you interested?

Responsibilities

  • Financial accounting, control of project funds and budget management

  • Checking receipts, invoices and payment transactions in accordance with the financial guidelines of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (rules for public procurement)

  • Coordination and communication with the bank, tax consultants and other service providers

  • Supporting the project management in daily operations

  • Preparation of financial reports and proof of utilisation for the donors

Requirements

  • Training in accounting/finance or studies in business administration, economics or related disciplines; alternatively comparable knowledge, skills and experience

  • Good computer skills

  • Good knowledge of German and English

  • Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an advantage

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously

  • Flexibility and strong ability to work in a team
